The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Benue State Ministry of Science and Technology lost his life along side his family in a fire outburst that raised their house at Quararafa Quarters Makurdi in the early hours of today November 18th.

According to Facebook user Ukan Kurugh who shared the sad news online, the fire became uncontrollable at 3am, destroying properties worth millions of naira and claimed the lives of the man, his pregnant wife and two children.

The fire started from the living room, but that when the occupants of the house woke up, they could not find their way out due to heavy locks on the exit doors.

The cause of the fire is yet unknown as at the time of this report.
