The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has approved the promotion of 99 commanders.
The list of promoted officers imcludes;
Sunday Joseph Nbona to Deputy Commander General of Narcotics (DCGN) from Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN).
Nbona, Chief of Staff to the NDLEA Chairman and Director of Prosecution and Legal Services, becomes the first-ever DCGN.
Five Commanders of Narcotics (CN) are now Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACN); Thirty-three Deputy Commanders of Narcotics (DCN) are now on CN level.
Additionally, sixty staff on ACN rank have been elevated to DCN.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) chief, Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (rtd) urged the newly promoted officers to continue to distinguish themselves in the discharge of their new responsibilities.
“This promotion is in recognition of your outstanding performance over the years. It is expected that it will spur you to put in your best in the service of the agency and the nation”, he stated.
Before now, six Commanders of Narcotics became ACGN, while five others were promoted to CN’s.
In all about 1,311 officers were promoted to the next ranks.
