Katsina: 30 Kidnapped Victims Regains Freedom

Bandits releases another set of kidnapped victims in katsina after a dialogue by the state government with their leaders.

The victims were handed over to Governor Aminu Masari at the Government House on Sunday in Katsina.

While addressing the returnees, Gov. Masari said that government would continue to persuade the bandits to release more more of their victims until all of them were freed.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the victims were kidnapped by the bandits from Kankara and Shimfida, both in Jibia Local Government Area of the state.

They were thereafter taken to their hideout in Damsadau forest, Zamfara State, where they spent some weeks.

While narrating her ordeal in the hands of the bandits,one of the victims, Zinatu Sani said that she was kidnapped from her matrimonial home, with two of her children. A ransom of 20 million naira was demanded before they would be released.

The governor directed that the returnees be taken to the hospital for health checks before heading home to join their families.
